Dawson's Creek is set in the small town of Capeside and focuses on the story of a group of friends as they go through adolescence. Dawson and Joey have been friends forever as have Dawson and Pacey but what will happen when new girl Jen shows up?

The show was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The theme tune to the show is I don't want to wait by Paula Coke.

The first two series are out on DVD.

The show ran for a total of 6 series but has now ended.

It created a spin-off called Young Americans, but nobody cares.

The show was created by Kevin Williamson who was also executive producer with Paul Stupin. The two do audio commentary for two episodes on the first series DVD.

Random and sometimes interesting points:

• The necklace that Dawson wears in every episode was actually made by actor James Van Der Bek's mother.
• The show is based on Kevin Williamson's experiances growing up. Joey is based on his friend Fannie Norwood.
• FOX originally picked up the project but later decided not to go ahead with it and let it go.
• Steven Spielberg requested copies of the episodes.
